SUBSERSIVE X-STITCH - 19 SEP 2026

$75.00

19 SEP 2026
12-3PM

Fun, irreverent, and sassy, subversive X-stitch is a fun way to explore this ancient medium in a small format and low-pressure way. Cross-stitch history spans millennia, originating with simple “X” stitches in ancient Egypt and China for decorating textiles, spreading via the Silk Road, and evolving in Medieval Europe for clothing and tapestries. It became a vital skill for young women via samplers in the Victorian era, used for alphabets, demonstration of skills, and stories before its modern revival as a leisure craft. Today we use it to throw shade, as a feminist flex, and to make our opinions known in the most humorous way possible. For this class, we will be covering the crossstitch basics and working with a small hoop. All materials provided.
